Beep Call

by Jazz

Running out of balance mid-day is common on prepaid Jazz. Beep Call lets you leave a missed-call style signal when you cannot afford a normal outgoing call. Jazz enables it for the prepaid base by default.

Official Jazz notes: first beep each day is free. You can send up to 15 beeps per day to on-net or off-net numbers. Beeps after the first cost Rs 0.14 including tax each.

Restrictions

Prepaid Jazz only. Not a voice minute bundle. The called party still sees a missed call, not a connected conversation.

Terms & conditions

Service is on by default for prepaid base per Jazz FAQ. Confirm live wording on jazz.com.pk/prepaid/beep-call.

How Beep Call works

Dial a number as usual. If balance is insufficient for a regular call, Beep Call can trigger a short missed call instead of failing silently. The other person sees a missed call and may call back.

This is not a substitute for minutes. You cannot talk through Beep Call itself.

Charges

ItemFee
Beeps 2 to 15 same dayRs 0.14 incl. tax each

Example: ten extra beeps in one day costs about Rs 1.26 plus the free first beep. That is cheaper than a minute bundle if you only need attention, but expensive if you spam beeps.

Subscribe and unsubscribe

Most prepaid Jazz numbers already have Beep Call active. To turn it off, SMS UNSUB to 5188 (free per Jazz FAQ). To turn it back on, SMS SUB to 5188.

No USSD code is listed in the JSON feed. Use the 5188 SMS commands or ask Jazz care.

Who it helps

Useful when you need someone to call you back and you have zero balance. Students, delivery riders, and shared-family SIMs use beeps as a doorbell.

Who should disable it

Disable if you beep habitually and drain balance on Rs 0.14 pings. Disable if missed-call spam annoys your contacts. If you carry a small minute bundle, normal calls are clearer.

Abuse and etiquette

Fifteen daily beeps is plenty for emergencies, not for harassment. PTA rules on unwanted contact still apply. If someone misuses your SIM, UNSUB immediately.

Common questions

Do I need a smartphone? No. Any standard GSM handset works.

Is there a monthly fee? Jazz lists per-beep pricing, not a flat daily subscription in the prepaid FAQ.

Daily beep budgeting

Fifteen beeps sound generous until a family group chat turns into a ping war. Fourteen paid beeps cost just under Rs 2 per day. That is still less than a minute bundle if the goal is only getting attention.

Track how many beeps you use the first week. If you average under three, keep the service. If you hit the cap daily, buy a small hybrid pack instead of beeping everyone.

On-net versus off-net behavior

Jazz states both networks work. Off-net beeps still notify the other operator's customer as a missed call. They may not know you lacked balance unless they call back.

Relationship with other VAS

Beep Call is not Missed Call Alert. MCA stores inbound calls when you are off. Beep Call is outbound broke ping. Do not confuse the two on *6611#.

Children and shared SIMs

Parents sometimes give kids a zero-balance SIM with Beep Call enabled. Teach kids not to harass teachers with fifteen beeps. UNSUB 5188 on school SIMs if abuse appears.

Re-enabling after UNSUB

SUB to 5188 turns it back on. No fee to SMS commands per FAQ, but paid beeps still cost Rs 0.14 after the first free one.

When a minute pack is smarter

If you beep the same person daily, a Weekly Super Duper mini hybrid may cost less than chronic beeps plus callbacks. Run the math for your exact recharge cycle.

Support path

If beeps fail despite balance, ask Jazz care whether Beep Call was disabled on the account. Mention 5188 commands clearly.

Historical context on Jazz prepaid

Beep Call exists because Pakistan prepaid culture runs on missed-call signaling. Market women beep suppliers. Students beep parents. The service formalizes behavior people already invented when balances hit zero.

Measuring ROI

If one beep saves a lost delivery because the rider called back, Rs 0.14 paid for itself. If beep replaces a three minute off-net call, compare against Rs 3.5 per minute base voice without bundle.

Integration with JazzCash

Sometimes receiving JazzCash is faster than beeping. Teach family to JazzCash Rs 50 instead of beeping fifteen times when real money is needed, not just attention.

Care escalation

If unsub to 5188 fails, visit franchise with CNIC. Account flag may block VAS SMS gateway.

Seasonal disable

During Ramadan or exam weeks, disable beeps to focus on worship or study without pocket vibrations from failed dials.
