SIM activation
Buy a Jio SIM from a Jio Point, authorized retailer, or online with delivery. Indian residents need Aadhaar-based eKYC. The agent scans your Aadhaar, captures a live photo, and completes biometric or OTP verification as required.
Foreign nationals typically need a passport and valid visa. The SIM usually activates within hours once KYC clears. You can also request eSIM on supported phones through MyJio if your device passes the eligibility check.
India limits mobile connections per ID. To check how many SIMs are on your Aadhaar, use the Department of Telecommunications TAFCOP portal. Keep the welcome SMS and set APN to jionet if data does not start automatically.
SIM replacement
Lost or damaged your Jio SIM? Visit a Jio Point or authorized store with your original ID used at purchase (usually Aadhaar). Complete verification again and ask for a duplicate SIM with the same number.
